Where is the 2013 art book, Paw Prints?

Due to the later schedule this spring and the phenomenal number of art submissions–over 125!–the 2013 art book, Paw Prints, will be published early in the 2013-2014 school year. It will be available again for viewing and purchasing on blurb.com, and a copy will be available in the Media Center. Thank you to all students and staff who submitted their art this year! It is going to be another beautiful book!

Rising 4th and 5th Graders Summer Reading

This summer, the ANCS elementary campus is starting a new summer reading initiative for rising 4th and 5th graders. Please read the attached letter from the principal to find out all the details! FireBall Auction Apple Trees Planted and Dedicated

Next time you are on the lower field at the elementary school campus, be sure and take a look at the two newly planted apple trees and their beautiful plaques. The apple trees were donated by GardenHood and put up for auction at this year’s FireBall. The two ANCS families who bid on and won these two apples trees then got to select what they wanted printed on their dedication plaques. One family dedicated their tree “In Honor of All ANCS Teachers”. The other ANCS family chose this Shel Silverstein quote, “Once there was a tree… and she loved a little boy.”

Thank you to GardenHood for donating the apple trees, the two ANCS families who bid on and won the trees, the Sustainability Committee for planting the trees and to the State Botanical Garden of Georgia for printing the beautiful plaques! You are all appreciated!

P.S. At next year’s auction, two trees will be available to bid on that will then be planted at the middle school campus.

The students learned about different Career Clusters. Thank you to Lisa Roberson, Tim Smith, Cheryll and Ken Booth, Jill Hanson, Michelle and Mike Bergin, Ellie Cantkier, Tim Hagan, Mark Brandli, Nurse Hicks, Ashley Miller, and Heather Boldt for volunteering your time to talk about your careers! Be sure to ask your child what he or she learned about.

The Oak Leaves Yearbook is coming!

The 2012-13 Oak Leaves Yearbook is coming! The elementary campus yearbook price will still be just $6 this year, but the content is expanding. The Oak Leaves will be full color and feature many pages of candid photos of our school at work and play on campus and in the larger community.

Look for order forms outside morning meeting, in room parent emails, and in communication folders over the next week.

Balamani Basketball Camp

This camp will focus on fundamental basketball skills, knowledge of the sport, and confidence when playing. This is done through fun and engaging repetition drills and games. Each day will start with drills and end with scrimmages.
