Student Government is in the process of planning MC Field Day for Wednesday, May 16th and we need YOUR HELP!
 
Dear Parents & Guardians of Middle Campus Students:
Student Government is in the final stages of planning an exciting and fun field day for middle campus on Wednesday, May 16th in Grant Park!
 
Below is a list of what is needed from your student in order to participate, items to be loaned or donated, suggested items for your student to bring to field day, and volunteer opportunities.
 
1. All students and parents are required to sign a Student Contract in order to
participate in Field Day. This contract clearly states the expectations of eligibility,
behavior, class work, and dress. Included in this document is also a requirement
regarding any outstanding fees due, overdue library books, outstanding class trip
payments (Jekyll & DC), and negative cafeteria account balances. Options for
handling the above are outline in the contract. This form was sent home with your
student on Monday April 30th and you can also access it here.
 
2. The following items are things that student government would like loaned or donated to field day:
- Coolers
- Tents (festival style)
- Bottled Water
- Snacks
 
3. You student should plan to bring the following to field day:
- Sunscreen
- Appropriate clothing for hot, outdoor activities (please refer to the student contract for dress code guidance.)
- Lunch ( A sack lunch can be ordered from the cafeteria. Please notify Ms. Larson by May 9th if your student will need to have one ordered.)
- Chairs or Blankets
- A change of clothes (This is if your student has signed up to participate in a messy or wet relay.)
- Snacks
- Drinks (Water will be provided for all students.)
Any item your student brings to field day will be their responsibility to bring home.
 
4. Field day at ANCS has always been a family friendly event and we encourage anyone interested in volunteering or coming out just to watch will join us. Below are some opportunities for volunteering:
- Team Parent – This volunteer will work with other team parents to make sure their team has enough donations of water, snacks or other needs.
- Relay Volunteer – This volunteer will work the relays as a judge to make sure everyone completes the relay.
 
Dismissal will take place from Grant Park – Boulevard Parking Lot at 2:15 pm. Boys and Girls Club vans will pick up from the park. Any student who is planning to be dismissed as a walker from the park, must have presented a note to the front office from their parent/guardian giving specific permission to do so. Mrs. Dickie will be arranging a bike caravan from the school and back at dismissal. In order to participate in the caravan, written permission is required.

The initial date to request a transfer will be May 19th. All transfer requests must be made in person and the required documents are on the website. APS has NOT released the list of schools available for transfers but state they will do so by May 14th.

We’ve dug the trenches and set the level lines, and now we need help lugging the blocks down the hill so the kids can place them. They’re more than 50 pounds, so come prepared for heavy lifting (I have some medium-sized gloves). If you can help on Saturday, May 12, please contact Denise Svenson with the time you are available, and we’ll set it for the time that most people can come. The best way to do this would be forming a line of people to pass the blocks down the hill, so lots of volunteers are needed. The students want to see the wall finished before school is out, so please help.
