Important Bingo Night information!
What is Bingo Night?
It is a 3-hour family game event (and PTCA fundraiser) held in the NSC auditorium that is fun for the whole family! This is the 4th Annual Bingo Night!
When you say “whole family,” does that include babies and toddlers?
As long as they are being supervised at all times, sure! There is no babysitting service at the event and no drop-off is allowed. Consider bringing earplugs for the little ones who may be startled by shouts of “BINGO!” It can get very loud as the excitement builds!
Are there cash prizes?
No. All prizes are donated by generous parents or local businesses or purchased by the Bingo Night Committee. There are a number of gift cards, however.
What if two people get BINGO at the same time?
We use a “spotter” to see who raises their hand and says “BINGO” first, but in the rare event of a true tie, we can do a tie-breaker game.
How do I buy bingo cards and food at the event?
We use an “all tickets” based system, so you need to bring cash to buy pre-grouped ticket packs (you get discounts for buying more). You buy tickets outside the auditorium, then exchange them inside the auditorium for food, cards, daubers, etc.)
What if I only want to play a few hands?
That is totally fine (but not recommended for a full Bingo Night experience)! It does get crowded, so if you were hoping to wait until the grand prize at the end, you may have trouble getting a seat and hot food goes fast early in the event.
Is there a list of games/prizes I can view before Friday?
Because we are still gathering prizes, a full list will not be available until the day of the event. The Grand Prize this year is a Kindle Fire.
How much money should I bring?
We generally recommend that a family of four that comes hungry and wants to play most of the games buy a “high-roller” pack of tickets for $50. If you’ve already eaten or have a smaller party, you could consider the medium sized pack. You can always come back for more.
Do people get turned away?
Attendance has exceeded our expectations every year, but it has been manageable. If necessary, we will, of course, limit participation to avoid going over capacity in the room.
Oops! What if I forget to bring cash?
Unfortunately, you’ll miss the first few games as you dash to the ATM or hit up your neighbor, because we will not issue IOUs.
See you there!
