Academic Assistance is a part of the Response to Intervention (RTI) model, which helps teachers to implement interventions to help students to progress. Every child will be given a universal screener. The purpose of these screeners, along with teacher input, is to identify students who need additional academic support.
Identified students will receive very focused instruction through either a classroom inclusion or a pull out model over a twelve-week period. Both models may be used, depending on the needs of the individual student. The goal of the program is to help the student to reach his or her academic potential.
