Megan McKnight graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies. After college, she was accepted into Teach For America and placed at Fred A Toomer Elementary School (FATE) in Atlanta.

During the time she worked at FATE, she completedĀ a Master of Arts in Teaching degree program at Mercer University.

During her 12 year career as an educator, Megan has focused almost exclusively on improving education in the Maynard Jackson cluster at FATE. First serving as an elementary school teacher and then as an instructional coach, she gained extensive experience in coaching and training teachers and was awarded the Atlanta Families Award for Excellence in Education. Megan also worked as a Curriculum Specialist and worked several summers as a Faculty Adviser with Teach For America’s Summer Institute.

Megan and her husband, Peter, live in Woodland Hills with their son, Sam, and dog, Maggie. She loves Atlanta for the weather, food, neighborhoods and festivals. Megan is thrilled to be working with the CREATE Program.
