Ben Sutton

Ben Sutton

Vice Chair; Finance & Operations Committee Chair

Ben Sutton joined the ANCS governing board for the 2020-21 school year. He has two children, one in kindergarten and the other in preschool.

Ben brings a well-rounded background to the ANCS board. Although it didn’t end up as his career path, he has a degree in history education and spent some time teaching in an alternative high school. In his day job, he works to preserve and maintain historic buildings across the state of Georgia, and is excited to put that expertise to work making sure the two ANCS campuses are well-cared for so that the staff and students can focus on teaching and learning.

Since his family moved to Grant Park, Ben has admired the intentional community that has been created at ANCS. It is clear that parents, educators, and board members are committed to building and nurturing that sense of community from the ground up. This foundational understanding allows students to grow into the informed global citizens that will be required to build a more just and equitable world. He looks forward to carrying on that effort to ensure that the school is a strong positive force in the community.

Ben loves to spend time outdoors with his family – camping, hiking, and getting on rivers and lakes whenever they can. He is a novice gardener, but really enjoys working in his yard and learning how to grow stuff (sometimes).
