Part-Time ESOL Teacher

ANCS is seeking a part-time ESOL teacher. This position involves working with students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Interested and qualified applicants should complete the online application and include a letter of interest and updated resume.

The position of part-time ESOL Teacher at the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School (ANCS) involves the following primary responsibilities:

  • Implement and support instruction and assessment practices for a diverse group of students that reflect the common principles of the Coalition of Essential Schools and comply with all local and state ESOL requirements
  • Demonstrate sound classroom management skills and embrace differentiated instructional approaches to learning
  • Complete all required local and state ESOL testing and reporting
  • Engage in continuous professional development and shared learning with other professional staff
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse group of school colleagues, parents, community members and others to support and implement the goals of the school
  • Participate fully in faculty and school related meetings
  • Work flexible hours as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Reports to:
Directly to Campus Principals

Education:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and Georgia ESOL teaching certification required; Completion of a teacher preparation program and/or degree in education or related field preferred

Experience:
The experience and qualifications preferred for this position include:

  • Experience working with elementary and middle school-aged students, particularly English language learners
  • Knowledge of integrated and experiential learning
  • Ability to collaborate well with other teachers
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working with diverse groups of students, teachers, and families
  • Familiarity with the common principles of the Coalition of Essential Schools
