We help talented students of color and their families access and succeed in first-class college preparatory education, and to form a support network that can help them throughout their lives.
The support we provide includes guidance, awareness and skill-building and enrichment opportunities. Because people often ask – we are not a scholarship-granting organization, but we do help hard-working students and their families to access scholarships.
The College Preparatory Schools Program (CPSP) is the main instrument through which A Better Chance executes its mission. To access its support, a student must first become a Scholar. Below are some links to in-depth information about what that means, how to get started, and what a Scholar’s journey looks like.
Important Dates and Deadlines
There are two deadlines for the A Better Chance Application this year:
Early Decision: Monday, March 1, 2021
Regular Decision: Thursday, April 15, 2021
Please check the “A Better Chance Application Components” page https://www.abetterchance.org/admissions-and-programming/how-to-apply for detailed information about each option.
We encourage all applicants to attend an A Better Chance Information Session https://www.abetterchance.org/admissions-and-programming/inquire before applying. All sessions are virtual, and there are both synchronous and asynchronous options. We offer both “general” and “regional” sessions, but the core of the material delivered in the session is the same. Therefore, anyone can attend any session knowing they will receive the same information.
