Grant Park Conservancy Nature Club

The Grant Park Conservancy Nature Club will meet on Wednesdays from 1:30pm to 3:30pm and is available for first, second, and third grade students. GPC staff will meet students at the Elementary Campus and walk to the park. Each session will include a combination of crafts, nature based activities, park exploration, and snack time. Students will experience their community park in a new light, learning about the native plants and animals that can be found, the history of the park, and conservation through fun, engaging activities. In the case of rain, the Nature Club will walk directly to the Park Care Center for indoor activities.

Dates:

Every Wednesday from September 9 through December 16 – except for Fall Break (10/14) and Thanksgiving Break (11/25). 

Hours:

1:30pm – 3:30pm

GPC staff will pick students up at ANCS to walk to camp.

Parents will pick students up from the Grant Park Conservancy Park Care Center on Cherokee Ave.

Cost:

$200 per student for the semester, sibling discounts available upon request.

Participants:

First – third graders

10-14 students (please note we require a minimum of 10 students to enroll to run camp).

Meet the GPC Nature Club Director, Skyler Edwards.

Skyler has been at the GPC for almost 3 years. At the Grant Park Conservancy she runs the volunteer workdays, community events, and park operations. Skyler has experience working with kids from ages 6 months to 18 years old as a camp counselor, intern manager, babysitter, and substitute teacher. At the GPC she has worked with Maynard Jackson High School students and local boy and girl scout troops for volunteer projects and park activities.
