Staff return to in-person instruction: April 19

As you know, we felt strongly that it was important to give teachers a choice between virtual and in-person instruction while levels of COVID-19 community transmission were at their peak. Fulton County cases per 100,000 people have now dropped almost four-fold since January, and the State of Georgia has announced that teachers and school staff will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine on March 8. These are not signs that we should relax our restrictions or loosen our safety protocols, but we have let our faculty and staff know that we expect them to return to in-person instruction on April 19. Those who provide a documented medical exclusion or present extenuating circumstances will continue to have the option of teaching from home.
