Crossing Guard Volunteers Needed

We’re looking for ANCS parents, caregivers, grandparents, neighbors, and other community members to help serve as volunteer crossing guards at the Grant Street/Georgia Avenue intersection.

The APS Police Department provides crossing guards for schools across the city, but with so many schools to support, they aren’t able to staff every intersection. We’ve been working with APS to explore solutions and are excited that they have agreed to train ANCS volunteers to help provide coverage at one of our busiest crossings.

We’re hoping to recruit enough volunteers that each person only needs to commit to one 30-minute shift per week.

Volunteer shifts:

  • Monday–Friday: 7:30–8:00 a.m.
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 2:30–3:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 1:20–1:50 p.m.

If you’re able to help, please sign up here.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to help keep our students safe during arrival and dismissal.
