Message From EC Aftercare Director

Dear Families,

I am so excited to introduce myself as the new Director of Aftercare for the upcoming school year! Many of you may already know me as Ms. Rockmore from Kindergarten, and I am truly honored to step into this role and continue supporting our students and families in a new way.

Our vision for Aftercare is to create a safe, engaging, relationship-centered environment where students can have fun, continue learning, build meaningful connections, and feel cared for beyond the school day. I want Aftercare to feel like a seamless extension of the ANCS experience while also giving students opportunities to relax, explore their interests, and simply enjoy being kids.

This year, our goal is to provide a balanced program that includes:

• Time and support for students to complete home enrichment/homework
• Opportunities for tutoring and academic support beginning in September
• Fun and engaging workshops such as slime making, melty beads, Gaga Ball, theater, chess, arts and crafts, and more
• Outdoor play, movement, and social opportunities
• Two healthy snack options each day

Our staff will also be trained in Conscious Discipline practices to help us create a program rooted in safety, connection, consistency, problem-solving, and social-emotional growth. We want students to feel seen, heard, supported, and successful while also being held to clear and caring expectations.

One of my biggest priorities is ensuring a smooth and seamless transition into the new school year for both students and families. I know routines and transitions matter, and I am committed to creating systems and structures that help Aftercare run safely, efficiently, and positively for everyone involved.

I am incredibly excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to build something special together. Thank you for trusting us with your children each afternoon. I look forward to getting to know all of our aftercare families and making this a wonderful year!
