Welcome from Our New Elementary Assistant Principal
Dear ANCS Families, Students, and Staff,
I am honored to step into the role of Elementary Campus Assistant Principal for the 2026–2027 school year and to continue serving the ANCS community in this new capacity.
For those who may not know me, I have been part of ANCS for the past 21 years, serving as a classroom teacher and, for the last 11 years, as the Instructional Coach for Kindergarten through Second Grade. During that time, I have had the privilege of working closely with students, teachers, and families to support student learning and strengthen our instructional practices.
As I step into this role, I am excited to expand my work in support of the elementary campus and join the K-8 Leadership Team. I look forward to partnering with our talented faculty to continue strengthening instruction, working alongside families to support student success, and contributing to the systems and structures that help our school run each day. Most importantly, I remain committed to ensuring that every student feels seen, supported, and challenged to grow.
On a personal note, my connection to ANCS is deeply meaningful. My husband, Matt, and I have lived in Ormewood Park since 2001, and our son, Dylan, is an ANCS alumnus. This community has shaped not only my professional journey, but also our family. From the influence of the Conscious Discipline approach to our shared commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ANCS has played a significant role in building the Greer family. Along with helping to shape our values, some of our deepest relationships are thanks to ANCS; the closest friendships Dylan took with him to his freshman year of college started here in kindergarten.
I am grateful for the opportunity to continue this work and to serve our students, staff, and families in a new way. I look forward to the year ahead and to building on the strong foundation that makes this community so special.
With pride and excitement,
Veleta D. Greer, M.S.Ed.
