Lauren Holstein

6th/7th Grade Sciences Teacher

Lauren Holstein joined ANCS in 2025 as the Design Teacher and is teaching Science for the 2026–2027 school year. She brings 17 years of experience in science education and is passionate about helping students develop scientific literacy, critical thinking, and a lifelong curiosity about the world around them.

Ms. Holstein earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Education in Secondary Biology through the Holmes Program, both from Louisiana State University. Throughout her career, she has focused on creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences that encourage students to think critically, solve problems, and develop confidence in science.

Prior to joining ANCS, Ms. Holstein taught middle school science at several schools in Louisiana, including Edward Hynes Charter Schools, Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy, Cabrini High School, and J.B. Martin Middle School. She has experience teaching a variety of middle and high school science courses and has developed curriculum aligned with NGSS standards, integrated STEM learning opportunities, and designed inquiry-based laboratory experiences that support students with diverse learning needs. She is also AP Biology certified and an active member of both the National Science Teaching Association and the Louisiana Science Teachers Association.

Ms. Holstein is excited to continue inspiring curiosity and a love of science at ANCS while encouraging students to become thoughtful problem-solvers and lifelong learners.
