Student Revelation of Suicidal Thoughts

Purpose

This policy governs the need to report any suspected suicidal thoughts.

Duration

This policy is permanent.

Policy

  1. Any school employee who suspects a student may be having suicidal thoughts should immediately communicate this information to one of the school's counselors, Campus Principals, and/or the K–8 Assistant Campus Principals.
  2. The counselor or designee will speak with the student and the student's parent/guardian to determine the next steps necessary to ensure the student's safety.
