Conscious Discipline Parent & Caregiver Workshop

November 1, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

We are excited to offer a Conscious Discipline Parent Workshop on November 1st from 5:30 to 7:00 PM in the elementary campus auditorium. Join us to learn more about what Conscious Discipline is and get some tips for how to incorporate skills and strategies into your home life. This workshop is a school-wide event and is appropriate for parents & caregivers with students in grades kindergarten through 8th. We are thrilled to have Nicole Mercer, Conscious Discipline consultant, here to lead us in this fun and informative workshop. Please complete this form if you plan on attending the workshop. Free childcare is available for children ages 4 and up but space is limited to 60 children. Sign up for childcare here.

Neighborhood Charter has been working with Nicole on implementing Conscious Discipline into the structure of our school family since 2011. Conscious Discipline is a comprehensive classroom management program and social-emotional curriculum based on current brain research, child development information, and developmentally appropriate practices. Conscious Discipline has been specifically designed to make changes in the lives of adults first. The adults, in turn, change the lives of children. It is unique from other ways of guidance because it:

  • Defines discipline not as something you do to children, but something you develop within them.
  • Teaches new skills to the adults first, and the children second, empowering adults to become the mindful teachers and parents you want to be.

We hope you will join us for an engaging evening of learning more about Conscious Discipline and how to begin (or continue) your journey at home.
