EC Assistant Principal Letter

Dear ANCS Elementary Families,

To those of you who celebrate the holiday, I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Halloween!  From trick-or-treating to cozy evenings by the fire pit to simply observing the leaves change color and fall to the ground, it is a beautiful time of year for all of us. We definitely had some tired kiddos (and maybe even adults) in school on Wednesday, but overall, the day went well! Thank you for supporting us with no costumes or candy at school.

Last week was certainly an eventful week here at the elementary campus. Thank you to Nichole Lupo for hosting the much anticipated Farm Event last Tuesday as well as all of the members of our Celebration of Food, Farms and Culture Committee for helping to plan and execute this spectacular event.  On Wednesday, in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month all of our students, grades K-5, had the opportunity to experience a Flamenco Dance performance. Through interactive storytelling, the students learned about the history of Flamenco Dance and even had a chance to practice some traditional Flamenco dance moves. Olé!  On Friday, between both campuses, we welcomed over 600 grandparents and special friends into our buildings. It was so special to see our visitors connecting with the students and staff in unforgettable ways. I could tell that our visitors were finally able to experience and witness first hand all of the things that the children have shared with them about being a student at ANCS.

Lastly, many thanks to those of you who were able to attend the Digital Citizenship Parent University Monday morning. I hope you found the information shared helpful and now have some additional tools to ensure the online safety of our students. If you were unable to attend, definitely check out our ANCS Digital Citizenship website full of resources that were shared and discussed.

In last week’s courier I shared that Grandparents and Special Friends Day is one of my favorite events, but I have to say that Fall Fest, especially since we’ve been back in-person after the  COVID shut down, is right up there on the list. This year our annual Fall Fest is happening on Saturday from 12:00-3:00p here at the elementary campus. This is an event for students of all ages and the whole family is welcome to attend. I am looking forward to beautiful fall weather, snacks, games and all of your smiling faces. I’ll see you there!
