EC Principal Letter

Dear ANCS elementary families,

I hope you all enjoyed spending time together at the Wonderball last weekend. We had a wonderful DJ, great food, amazing raffle items and beautiful weather! Many thanks to Carol Keller, our amazing art teacher, for the guidance and instruction she provided to our students to create timeless masterpieces! Thank you to all our volunteers who helped make the night a success.

We have another exciting week here at the EC. We are celebrating all things reading this week. The book fair is happening all week. Students have been browsing and buying books and are excited to begin new adventures through reading. We hope to see you all at Family Reading Night from 5:30-7:30 tonight. In addition to the book fair being open, there are many engaging activities for the whole family planned. It is going to be a fun time for all.

Then, don’t forget that this Friday we are having our annual Book Character Parade. We would love for you to join us for the parade from 1:30 to 2:15 here at school. Each class will be dressed up as characters from a book they have read together and then parade through the halls and around the school so all the students can see their costumes and have some fun. Parents and guests will view the parade on the front lawn and on the sidewalks around the school. Students will be coming through the front doors around 1:45ish. We are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather, because a parade is always more fun outside, but in the event of rain, families will come into the auditorium and watch the students parade around the room. We hope you can make it for this exciting afternoon.

As I mentioned in my last courier letter, our third, fourth and fifth graders will be engaged in taking the Milestones state assessment from May 1st to the 15th. Please note that there are no visitors allowed in the building during Milestones testing. If you are a parent of a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader, please make sure your student arrives at school well rested and on time each day of testing. Students cannot enter the classroom after testing begins and will not be allowed to take that test. Thank you for your support with this.

As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Have a wonderful remainder of your week.

Wishing you well,

Lara
