EC Principal Letter

Dear ANCS Elementary Families,

A big shout out goes to ANCS music teacher, Mrs. Wawerna, for creating and directing such a fun and beautiful Winter Wonderland night on Wednesday. It was cold, but in the end, that’s the way a winter wonderland is supposed to be, right?. Mostly, it was heartwarming to have our whole school family together to celebrate the joy music brings to our lives. I am always blown away at how well our students perform. A special thanks goes to Coach Daniel, Mrs. Paez, Ms. Shelley, Ms. Griffith, Jim Kessenich and Dave Keevers  who supported Mrs. Wawerna with rehearsals and all the backstage details. Also, hats off  to parent volunteers David Sinrich and Gabi and Michael Lynch, who helped with sound and lights and so much more. We couldn’t have done it without you.  Bravo!

All the lost and found items are located in our cafeteria, and we have a lot of items. We will donate all remaining items at the end of the day Thursday, December 14th. We are encouraging students to take some time to look through the missing jackets, sweaters, shirts, hats, lunchboxes, etc. at some point this week.  If you have time, you are also welcome to  look through the items yourself.

Once we get back to school, your child’s 18-Week Progress Report will be sent home via email on Tuesday, January 2nd. As a reminder, this report is part of our holistic reporting system, and is designed to operate in conjunction with parent conferences and the end-of-the-year report card. This report is intentionally called a Progress Report because we understand that students are continually growing and developing over the course of a school year. The progress report provides a picture of where a student’s understanding of grade level standards is at this point in the school year. There is no formal parent-teacher conference required for this marking period, but, as always, if you have questions, you should reach out to your child’s teachers. We will have our next conference window beginning February 23rd.

Remember that this next Friday’s dismissal is from 11:30 to 11:45 and there is no after school care. I hope you have a wonderful remainder of your week. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Wishing you well,

Lara
