EC Principal Letter

Dear ANCS Elementary Families,

First, I want to thank you for the love and support you have given me with the loss of my brother. This has been a very difficult time for my family and knowing that my school family is here for me has meant the world to me.

Here at school we have been fully engaged in celebrating Black History Month. Every door across the school is decorated with student work and information about Black arts and culture. Our students have excitedly engaged in Black History Trivia each morning in morning meeting and our school-wide celebration performance this morning was simply amazing. We are looking forward to seeing you at the family performance this evening at 6:00. I know you all will be as blown away by our students’ talents as I am.

I would like to thank all the members of our Black History Month committee who went above and beyond to make this month of learning and celebrating such a success. BHM Committee Members: Adrian Douglas, Antonia Morales, Brianna Holmes, Camron Johnson, Casey Morris Cassie Leymarie, Dana Copeland, Humaira Afzal, Leslie Jo Tottenham, Lindy Settevendemie, Jessica Shelley, Mahogany Williams, Nicole King, Shamier Gant, and Shari Lobban.

Finally, it’s been great seeing many of you at school for your spring parent conference. Having conversations with teachers about your child’s progress and experiences at school is so important. It is part of our partnership with you.  If you haven’t already signed up for a conference time, please make that a priority.

As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Have a wonderful weekend and hope to see you at the Wonderball!

Wishing you well,
