EC Principal Letter

Dear ANCS Elementary Families,

I want to thank you all for supporting our school family this past week. Losing a member of our wolf pack has been heartbreaking and we all continue to process this in our own ways. We have seen amazing support from parents, other schools and community members. It’s a reminder of how special our community is and how much we need each other.

I want to give a huge shout out to Ms. Wawerna, our fabulous music & chorus teacher, along with Susan Taylor and Nichole Lupo for their ongoing support with chorus this year. The spring chorus concert was a singing, dancing, joyful show of love and the power of music. We all enjoyed the concert on Tuesday evening and on Thursday in morning meeting.

Please join me in wishing well the members of our school family that have decided to move on from ANCS after this school year. We are grateful for their service to our school and love for our students. We will honor each of them at our last morning meeting Friday, May 24th.

  • Mallory Godicheau – 4 years of service.  Mallory is starting her own businesses (yes, plural) in travel and working on social skills with people on the Autism Spectrum.
  • Kelly Dressler – 6 years of service.  Kelly is excited to embark on a van life adventure with her husband while working with Imagine Learning as a Professional Development Specialist.
  • DeIvory Armstead – 8 years of service. DeIvory is moving to work as a reading teacher in APS.
  • Jessica Shelley – 16 years of service. Jessica is moving to a new school in DeKalb so she can be on the same schedule as her own children.

We only have two weeks of school left and we have so much to do in those two weeks. Please continue to make sure your child arrives at school on time each day. We have an 11:30am dismissal on the last day of school. My next courier letter will explain how that dismissal process will work so please make sure you read that carefully.

As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Have a wonderful weekend.

Wishing you well,

Lara
