EC Principal Letter

Dear ANCS Elementary Families,

We are just one day away from the end of the 23-24 school year. It has been a year full of growth, both academically and socially/emotionally. It has been a joy to see our school family becoming more connected through events and morning meeting participation. I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support and dedication to our school. I look forward to many more years of a strong wolfpack!

Many thanks to Coach Daniel, Ms. Paez and all of our related arts team along with the parent volunteers who helped make this year’s field day such an amazing success. It was a fun day for all in spite of the weather being a bit cool and drizzly. Our students still enjoyed going down the water slide, jumping in bouncy houses, playing games on the lower field, getting their faces painted and eating popsicles. There were lots of smiles, good sportsmanship and overall joy!

If you missed my courier letter last week, please take a few minutes to go back and look it over. I have a lot of information in there about the dismissal procedure for the last day of school, which is different from our regular dismissal structure. These procedures are in place to support a smooth and safe dismissal for all, and it will take everyone working together to make it work. Remember, dismissal is at 11:30. There is no after school or Boys and Girls Club pick up. Every child will need to be picked up from school on time. Thank you in advance for helping with this.

The Preliminary Georgia Milestones Individual Student Reports (ISRs) are available and will be coming home in a sealed envelope this afternoon with your 3rd and 5th grader(s).  Please see grade level specific details below:
  • 3rd grade ISRs will include ELA scores only.
  • 4th grade ISRs as well as late makeups in any grade level have not been made available yet and will be sent home the 1st week of the 2024-2025 school year.
  • 5th grade ISRs will include ELA and Science scores only.

The district has let us know that math scores will not be available to any student in the state of Georgia until late summer, so we will send those ISRs home the first week of the 2024-2025 school year.  In the event your child is not returning to ANCS next school year we will mail the ISR to the most recent address we have on file. If you have any additional questions, please email Nicole King.

I am wishing you all a peaceful, beautiful and fun-filled summer break. I can’t wait to see everyone back here on July 30th for the first day of the 2024-2025 school year.

Wishing you well,

Lara
