Dear ANCS Elementary Families,

Curriculum Night was well attended! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about your child’s classroom. Your partnership has a great impact on the success of your child’s growth and achievement and we are so grateful to know that we have families who are eager to work alongside us. If you weren’t able to make it, no problem! Your teachers will be able to share the information with you via email. Our Fall parent-teacher conferences are quickly approaching.

If you haven’t already, you will soon be receiving communication from your child’s teachers with directions for how to sign up for a conference time. In order to continue to strengthen our home-school partnership, this conference is mandatory and a wonderful opportunity to learn more about how your specific child has been engaging with peers, teachers, staff and academics. The purpose of this first conference is to focus on your child’s social/emotional development, specifically as it relates to our school’s guiding principals, highlight academic strengths and areas for growth and make a plan for support and growth.  As you prepare for your conference, please send questions or specific topics you would like to discuss directly to the teachers prior to your scheduled conference so that they can plan accordingly. Conferences are scheduled back to back and time is limited. This small step will better help teachers do their best to cover the most important things during the conference. We look forward to seeing you all (in person or virtually) over the next two weeks!

Nicole King

In 2017, Nicole King returned to ANCS as a 1st Grade Teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Agnes Scott College (2005) and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Massachusetts Lowell (2012). Before her return to ANCS, she taught at Trinity School in Atlanta for 5 years (2012-2017), Billingsville Elementary School in Charlotte for 3 years (2009-2012), and Neighborhood Charter School as a 1st Grade Teacher (2006-2009).
