Elementary Principal Letter

Dear ANCS Elementary Families,

I hope you are enjoying this cooler weather. I know that I sure am. We are all gearing up for the upcoming fall break. Remember, next week there is no school for students. Next Friday teachers will enjoy a workday, which allows for us to meet all together as a K-8 faculty and staff – a rare gift.

It was great to see many of you enjoying the third Friday (on the fourth Friday due to rain) coffee last week. Thank you to our PTCA for hosting this. If you haven’t already joined the ANCS PTCA, it is not too late. You can do so right here.

Now that the weather is getting cooler, our lost and found is filling up. Please label your child’s clothing, water bottle, lunch box, etc. This helps us get items back to their rightful owner. Our lost and found is located in the cafeteria. If you child is missing something, encourage him/her to ask the teacher if they can go look through the rack. We donate all items right before winter break in December.

October is a busy month here at school and it is Digital Citizenship month. Kisha Rogers and Leslie Jo Tottenham will be hosting a parent session about digital citizenship on the evening of October 28th. This will be a virtual event. Please stay tuned for more information, but get this date on your calendar because you will not want to miss it.

Remember, we will not have COVID testing this Friday. If you are needing/wanting a test done before you travel, you will need to make plans to have that done outside of school. We will be testing twice the week following break, on Monday, October 11th and Friday, October 15th.

I am wishing you all a fun, safe and peaceful fall break!
