Elementary Principal Letter

Dear ANCS Elementary families,

2022 hasn’t gotten off to the start that we wish it had. However, I do want to say how impressed I am with our school family. Every student received his/her bin of learning materials (thank you families for making time to pick those up last Tuesday), teachers created engaging lessons and carried on with meaningful learning, students are showing up to class prepared and doing their personal best to participate and learn, the nutrition team created a meal pick up schedule and overall, things are running smoothly! Thank you all for the tremendous support and for your partnership during this phase of online learning.

We will be back to in-person school on Tuesday, January 18th and it will be a regular day of school beginning at 8:00 and ending at 2:30. After school will also resume on January 18. We will be conducting Covid testing that morning beginning and then again on Friday morning at our regular time. We do encourage you to sign a release for testing if you haven’t done so already.

Please note that once we return to the building on January 18, we will require all students to wear surgical masks while in school. Cloth masks will no longer be an option, as research shows that they are less effective at limiting the spread of the virus. We are working now to expand our supply of child-sized surgical masks, but we are also asking all parents/caregivers that are able to please supply their children with properly fitting surgical masks. Masks will be worn all day except when students are eating or drinking. They will be required again during recess. Additionally, all teachers will be required to upgrade to KN95 masks.

Thank you again for all you do to support our school. As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

Take care,
