Elementary Principal Letter
Dear ANCS Elementary Families,
I hope you all are enjoying waking up in daylight and feeling like you are sleeping in for an extra hour. After a very busy October full of activities, we definitely all need some rest. But alas, November is here and December quickly approaching!
What a fantastic day we had to enjoy our 20th anniversary celebration and annual Fall Festival. We celebrated Ms. Kelly Dennis and Ms. Heidi Lance, who have both been at our school since the very beginning. We are grateful to them and all the people who worked so hard to open the doors to this wonderful place to learn and grow.
A lot of folks came out for the fun and the weather was nice for spending a day outside. Our PTCA did a fantastic job organizing this fun, family-oriented event for our school. From the inclusion of grandparents and special friends, face painting and food, all details were in an effort to make all feel welcome and to have fun. We appreciate all their efforts along with all the folks who gave their time to volunteer at the festival. It is so wonderful to have a family-focused weekend here at school.
I cannot believe that I am saying this, but the holiday season is upon us, believe it or not! You may have heard that we are changing our winter program from Winterfest to Winter Wonderland. Mark your calendars! This will be a one-night event on December 7th and will take place outside on the lower field in the back of the school. Doors open at 6:00 and the show will start at 6:30. Each grade level will sing a song and then we will have a sing along all together. We are all super excited about this. The students have already been practicing and I can tell that it is going to be amazing! We will be sending more details as the time gets closer. In the meantime, if you are interested in helping in any way, please reach out to Annette Wawerna (awawerna@atlncs.org).
Finally, just another reminder that with the weather getting cooler and then warm again, our lost and found has gotten rather full. Please take some time to head down to the cafeteria to look through the rack and shelves, or encourage your child to do the same during their lunch time.. It is also helpful to label your child’s lunchbox, water bottle and clothing. We will return things to students if they are labeled. All items remaining in the lost and found on December 16th will be donated.
As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Have a wonderful remainder of your week.
Lara
