EC Principal Letter
Dear ANCS Elementary Families,
I hope you are having a nice week so far. I am planning for my oldest daughter to graduate from college this Saturday. It feels like just yesterday she was here at the elementary campus. Time really does fly by so quickly!
Our fourth graders started Milestones testing this week and everything is running smoothly with that. If you have a child who is testing, please make sure you get them to school on time each day. We get started first thing in the morning each day and if anyone is late, they cannot enter the room. Next week we have two days of makeup testing and then we are done with state testing for the year!
While virtual morning meetings are not the same as having everyone in the auditorium all together, we are still starting our days with a shared experience and as a school family through a virtual morning meeting. One thing that I have learned over the past few years is that we are a resilient and strong wolf pack. We know that we can do hard things and we consistently demonstrate that. I am proud of our students for being flexible and moving forward with positive attitudes. I am very hopeful that this Friday’s testing is uneventful and we can move back to having meetings all together in the auditorium. We will keep you all posted.
We are very excited to bring back a full field day this year. Coach Daniel has been planning for a safe and fun day for all and everyone is gearing up for it. If you are willing and able to volunteer, we would love to have you. We need folks to supervise inflatables, face paint, run games, etc. You can sign up here. Many thanks to those of you who have already signed up to help run a station. We appreciate your support!
The other big event happening after Milestones is portfolio share. You should have the date and time for your child’s share. If you do not have this, be on the lookout for communication from your child’s teachers. If you, or anyone from your family, is unable to attend for your student, please let the teachers know. We want everyone to have somebody with whom to share all their learning. We will find somebody at school to be your child’s guest if you can’t make it.
As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have. I hope you have a wonderful remainder of your week.
Wishing you well,
Lara
