Elm Principal Letter

Dear ANCS Elementary Families,

Last night was the opening night for the spring musical, Matilda, Jr. It was a wonderful evening and such a testament to the talent of our students. Many thanks to Jacob Dewey for directing this show and to Annette Wawerna, Alina Hinton, Toccara Nelson and Christina Jones for volunteering their time to support Mr. Dewy and all the students involved. I hope that you are able to make it to one of the shows this weekend. You will not be disappointed!

This was the last full week for our spring parent-teacher conferences. We hope that you found your conference time informative and productive. We recognize that 30 minutes isn’t always enough time to discuss everything, but we believe that having time to talk over the conference guide and set goals together is an important part of developing a partnership that supports student growth and learning. Thank you for taking the time to meet with your child’s teachers and remember that if you ever have questions or concerns, you are free to contact them anytime. If you did not set a date for your conference, please reach out to the teachers to see if there is a time for you all to meet as soon as you are able.

We made it through the first week of Daylight Saving Time! We had some tired kiddos and teachers in the building. Now that we have an extra hour of daylight each evening, it can be tempting to let go of some of the daily routines you have set in your house. We know that adjusting to Daylight Saving Time can be challenging, but we encourage you to continue or even tighten up on bedtime and morning routines. With only 9 weeks of school left of this school year, we want to make every minute of it count. Having students come to school well rested and ready for the day of learning is a huge support and benefits us all.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Wishing you well,

Lara
