Dear ANCS Families and Friends,
I hope you had a wonderful, restful Spring Break last week. With only 7 weeks of school left we all needed a reset before sprinting to the finish line.
During the week before Spring Break the teachers and staff were honored each day through the PTCA-sponsored Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. We are so grateful to Emily Howland for organizing this event and also taking an active role to ensure that each day went smoothly. In case you didn’t know, here’s what our wonderful week entailed:
- Monday morning Muffin Breakfast
- Smoothie delivery to our classrooms/work spaces
- Coffee/Tea/Espresso Bar sponsored by Jessica Harlan with Prosper Home Care and Gourmet Cafes
- Personalized gifts created by Beth Mercer with Knott Sew Monogramming.
- Gift raffle during Morning Meeting
- Lunch catered from Willy’s
- Cards/notes/emails of appreciation from students and families
- Yoga with Narin Hassan and Lynn Brandli
Our Milestones testing window starts a little later this year so that means 8th Grade Exhibitions are coming soon! Families of 8th graders, look out for information from your child’s Advisors about sign ups for these important student presentations. The 8th Grade Exhibitions will follow the schedule below:
Monday, April 22, (2:15 – 3:45)
Tuesday, April 23 (8:30 – 10:00)
Wednesday, April 24 (8:30 – 10:00)
Thursday, April 25 (8:30 – 10:00)
Friday, April 26 (2:15 – 3:45)
Exhibitions for 6th and 7th graders will happen after Milestones testing is complete. Stay tuned for more information later about those important student presentations.
Finally, our sports teams are in the thick of the playoffs and we hope the weather will treat us a little better than the week before break. The Baseball Wolves played last night in the first round of the playoffs so I can’t report on the official results yet but I’m confident that the team will do their absolute best (and bring home a victory)! The soccer teams will finish their weather-interrupted games tonight. The girls will play the last 10 minutes of their game, up 3-1 over Drew, at Mays High School starting at 5:30. The boys will play the remaining 45 minutes of their game, down 0-1, also at 5:30 at the Walden Complex. The winners of these games will play in the Championship tomorrow night at Lakewood.
Wishing you well,
