Letter from Cathey Goodgame – December 19, 2018

Dear ANCS Families and Friends,

Thank you to everyone who donated the Holiday Helpers this year. Because of all of donations plus the countless volunteer hours buying, organizing, wrapping and delivering, we were able to make the holidays more joyful for FIFTY-TWO kids this year! I am grateful to be part of such a loving and giving school family community.

Last week Matt Underwood shared with the community that we will have a new school family member joining ANCS. Officer Mario Young will join us in January as our School Resource Officer (SRO). This morning, I had the pleasure of introducing Officer Young to the students and adults at the Middle Campus during Morning Meeting and I shared some of my positive experiences with SROs at previous schools. ANCS is actually the first school in which I’ve worked where there wasn’t an SRO so I am especially excited to have him on board. Officer Young will be another adult in the building who will help keep us safe and I look forward to him building positive relationships with our students, teachers, staff and families. Please warmly welcome Officer Young to the ANCS school family!

The Basketball Wolves have another set of games this Friday before they take off for Winter Break. While most of our games this season are being played at Crim, this week’s games will be at Brady Rec Center Gym (3571 Breningham Dr). The girls will take on Ivy Prep at 7:15 and the boys will play Atlanta Youth Academy at 8:30. Go Wolves!

Finally, the first semester comes to a close this Friday with a noon dismissal. There is no ANCS After Care on Friday so please be sure your child knows his or her dismissal plans for noon Friday. We hope you have a wonderful Winter Break and we’ll see you in 2019!

Wishing you well,
