Letter from EC Principal

Dear ANCS Elementary Families,

We have had a great first couple of days of school! I can’t tell you how amazing it is to have our full wolf pack together again. The first weeks of school are spent learning routines and procedures, getting to know one another and creating the class family. We also teach/review the Guiding Principles and set the stage for a successful year. Ask your child what routines and procedures and guiding principles he/she learned this week.

Here are our Guiding Principles:

  • We come to school and every class prepared to learn and do our best.
  • We respect each other, our surroundings and ourselves.
  • We take responsibility for our actions and learning.
  • We work to resolve conflict in a peaceful, thoughtful, meaningful way.
  • We celebrate our individual and collective successes.

Thank you for your patience with arrival and dismissal. Once we all adjust to the new procedures with the full school family arriving and dismissing at the same time, things will run more smoothly. Please remember, if you want to walk your child up to the school, that is totally fine but do not park in the drop off lane or in front of the school. Instead, park on the other side of Grant or along a side street and walk up from there. Parking anywhere on the school side during arrival and dismissal blocks the flow of traffic, causes congestion and delays our process.

Arrival is from 7:30-8:00am and dismissal is from 2:30-2:45pm. Breakfast is served from 7:30-7:50am. Please make every effort to be on time each day for arrival and dismissal and know your dismissal number (formally known as car rider number).

If you have not returned your computer from last school year, there is still time to bring it in. You can send it to school with your child at any point this week. That goes the same for library books you may have found over the summer. We are always happy to take those back.

As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Have a wonderful remainder of your week!
