Dear ANCS Families and Friends,
I hope each of you enjoyed your spring break. Students and teachers all seemed to come back energized and ready for the sprint to the end of the year. It really is only seven weeks away and we have a busy schedule from now until then! Teaching and learning is still very much happening so please continue to make every effort to be at school on time and to support your child with being well rested and ready for learning.
A HUGE thank you again to Emily Howland and our wonderful PTCA for making us all feel so appreciated during Teacher Appreciation Week. It was a full week of love and treats and a perfect way to send us all off for a week of relaxation and fun.
Thanks to all of you who joined us for our annual Book Character Parade. We were lucky to have great weather and lots of cheering and celebrating all the reading we have done so far this year.
The beginning of Georgia Milestones testing is later this year than in years past. The schedule is a similar to last year’s, as not all grades are testing at the same time. If you are a parent or guardian of a student in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade please ensure your student is present and on time each day of testing. I wanted to give you enough time to plan accordingly. Please understand that we are not allowed to have visitors in the building during testing. The general schedule is listed below:
Wednesday, May 5: Writing Grades 3 & 5
Thursday, May 2: ELA Grades 3 & 5
Friday, May 3: Make up day
Monday, May 6: Math Grades 3 & 5
Tuesday, May 7: Math Grades 3 & 5
Wednesday, May 8: Make up day
Thursday, May 9: ELA Grade 4 & Science Grade 5
Friday, May 10: ELA Grade 4 & Social Studies Grade 5
Monday, May 13: Math Grade 4
Tuesday, May 14: Math Grade 4
Wednesday, May 15: Make up day
Just after Milestones is over, we will begin our portfolio shares for each grade level. Please be on the lookout for more information from your child’s teachers for specific details.
We will be donating lost and found items on Friday. Please come by and pick up what belongs to you!
As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Have a wonderful remainder of your week.
