Letter from Lara Zelski – January 8, 2020

Dear ANCS Family and Friends,

Happy New Year! I hope you had a safe and enjoyable holiday break. We are all geared up and ready to have a strong and positive second half of the school year!

I hope that by now you have had a chance to review your child’s 18-Week Progress Report and that you found it helpful in understanding his/her academic and social/emotional growth over the first half of this school year. Please sign and return the envelope, but keep the report for your records. The next round of parent teacher conferences starts on February 12th, but you should feel free to reach out with any questions you may have before that time. Thank you for the support you provide to our school family each day. We value our partnership with you and know that by working together we are sending a very important message to our children – that school matters and learning is important.

Please take a few minutes to complete the Georgia school climate survey for parents. In addition to our own internal feedback surveys, the state of Georgia also administers a couple of annual surveys of students, teachers/staff, and parents/caregivers. One of these surveys is the Georgia “school climate survey”. This survey is used in conjunction with other data to assign each school in the state a “school climate star rating”. You can read more about the surveys and the climate star rating on the Georgia Department of Education website. We ask that you please take a few minutes to complete the parent survey for ANCS between now and February 28th. Click here to access survey.

It is hard to believe that it’s almost time to begin planning for next school year’s enrollment. The application window for new students will begin on January 29th and continue until the March 2nd. If you have an incoming kindergartener or any other sibling that you intend to enroll in ANCS next year, you must complete an application. We will be sending additional information soon.

As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Have a wonderful remainder of your week.
