Letter from Lara Zelski – March 27, 2019

Dear ANCS Families and Friends,

We are all excited about this Friday, as we are starting the day off with Make A Difference Day getting things done around the school and then celebrating reading with our annual book character parade. We welcome each of you to join us by watching the parade and cheering on the students. As long as the weather allows, students will parade around the building outside. We will begin at 2:00 and it will last approximately 45 minutes. Students parade through the school first and then exit the building to march around the school. So, if you are planning on joining us, please know that students won’t be outside until about 2:15. We will begin dismissal shortly after the conclusion. It is a fun event that the students look forward to each year.

We are in the midst of the PTCA-sponsored Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week and it has been wonderful so far. Many thanks Emily Howland for leading the efforts with this event! Teachers and Staff have been, and will be, honored throughout the week with all of the following special events:

  • Yoga with Narin Hassan and Lynn Brandli
  • Fresh flowers for each teacher and staff member
  • Raffle surprises during Morning Meeting
  • A delicious lunch from Willy’s
  • Coffee/Tea/Espresso Bar sponsored by Jessica Harlan with Prosper Home Care and Gourmet Cafes
  • Cards of appreciation from students and fun gifts created by Beth Mercer with Knott Sew Monogramming.

We have a lot of items in the lost and found. Please encourage your child to look for any lost items. You are also welcome to look through the rack located in the cafeteria just after morning meeting or dismissal any day this week. We will be donating items shortly after spring break.

I’m sure nobody needs a reminder that Spring Break is next week! The building will be closed from Monday, April 1 through Friday, April 5 and we look forward to seeing everyone back again on Monday, April 8. I hope you have a safe and relaxing break.

Take care,
Lara
