Letter from Lara Zelski – November 13, 2019

Dear ANCS Families and Friends,

I hope you are all enjoying your week so far. We have had quite a time dealing with the most recent stomach bug at the elementary campus. It seems to have calmed down a bit this week, but please remind your child to wash hands often and keep them out of his/her mouth, nose, etc. We are working hard as a school to keep germs at bay, too.

Next week is School Crossing Guard Awareness Week. We are calling it “appreciation” week here at school, as we truly appreciate all their dedication and hard work each day on behalf of our students and school. Some of our students will be making cards for our crossing guards here at school, but we are asking everyone to say “thank you” and a few words of appreciation as they are crossing the street next week. We will recognize Ms. Hill (in front of school on Grant Street) and Ms. Breland (on Georgia Ave.) during our Monday morning meeting and thank them as a school community for helping to keep us safe.

As I mentioned in my last courier letter, we hope you will join us Wednesday, November 20th immediately following morning meeting in the cafeteria for our third Curriculum Conversation. This session is focused on digital life and learning here at the elementary campus. Ms. Rogers, Instructional Technology Specialist, Ms. Shelley, Teacher Librarian, and Ms. Tottenham, School Counselor, will discuss technology in the classroom, digital citizenship, and online safety. We look forward to seeing you there.

As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Have a wonderful remainder of your week.
