Letter from Lara Zelski – October 9, 2019

Dear ANCS families and friends,

Thanks so much to Marta Leo and Cathy McWhorter for helping to make Saturday’s Cardboard Challenge a huge success! Mrs. Keller (our wonderful art teacher) collaborated with them to plan and prepare for the day’s activities. We had many participants who enjoyed an afternoon having fun and enjoying creating together. There is no doubt that our students are brimming with creativity and imagination!

We are looking forward to Grandparents and Special Friends Day next Friday, October 18. Please note the times for each part of the day:

7:45 – 8:15 am: Grades K-2 Registration & Coffee
8:15 – 9:45 am: Grades K-2 Classroom Visits
9:25 – 9:45 am: Grades 3-5 Registration & Coffee
9:45 – 10:15 am: Chorus Performance & Principal’s Welcome for K-5 in auditorium
10:15 – 11:45 am: Grades 3-5 Classroom Visits

Obviously, we have a lot of visitors here for this special day. Please be mindful of our neighbors in the morning by not blocking driveways or crosswalks. If you have a guest who requires handicap accessibility, please pull into the back parking lot and enter the building through the first floor door. We will have someone there to help direct you to the elevator. Once your guest is inside the building, please move your car so there is space for others to access the entrance easily.

Please let your child’s teachers know if you want someone from school to be your child’s special friend. We work hard to make sure everyone has a guest. If you are planning for your child to leave school early with his/her grandparent or special friend, it is imperative that you provide the teachers with a note or email prior to Friday. We will not allow a student to leave if notification has not been given prior to the end of the visitation time. Thank you for your understanding with this matter.

As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Enjoy the remainder of your week.
