Dear ANCS Families and Friends,
Thank you to those of you who have taken a few minutes to complete the Georgia DoE parent/guardian survey I mentioned a couple of weeks ago in my Courier letter. We still need more people to participate to reach our goal. Please take a few minutes to complete the parent survey for ANCS between now and February 26. Click here to access the survey. You can read more about the surveys and the climate star rating on the Georgia Department of Education website.
Later this week a group of ANCS students, made up primarily of athletes and Student Council members, will have the opportunity to be of service to our community and you might even see them on some television spots during Super Bowl weekend. The NFL Legacy Project has chosen Warren Boys and Girls Club as a project location and our students will join others to work on the new playground, refurbish the garden, and some other projects still TBD. We’re excited to partner with Gail Johnson at Warren to support our community.
We’ve been focusing quite a bit on data over the last couple of months with the adults at the Middle Campus and now we’re going to talk data with the kids. Next Monday or Tuesday each student will have a 20 minute appointment slot to meet with a staff member to talk about their most recent MAP and growth, their Milestones performance and growth history, and how each of those connects to the work they are doing in class each day. The students will have something to bring home to show you as well so be sure to ask them about it. I’ll send a reminder next week via email so you’ll know what to look for.
Finally, the Basketball Wolves continue play on Friday with games against Utopian Academy. The girls will tip off at 5:00pm at Crim High School and the boys will begin play immediately after the end of the girls game. Admission to the basketball games is $6 for adults and $3 for students. We hope to see you there. Go Wolves!
Wishing you well,
