Letter from the MC Principal

Hello Middle Campus families,

I hope that you are having a great week. I’d like to start off with some school family news. Tova Baruch, 6th/7th Design teacher, is going to be moving on from ANCS in a couple of weeks. She has taken a new job doing operations with the Jewish Federation and her last day with us will be the Friday before Spring Break. We wish Ms. Baruch well in her upcoming endeavors. Angela Carter (Associate teacher) will be serving as a long term substitute in the Design classroom for the remainder of the year. She served as a long term sub in Design at the beginning of last year. Ayana Johnson (Adjunct staff) will be a long term substitute for Angela in her Associate role.

As you may know, the drama club’s spring musical is “Annie Jr.” The show will take place on two nights: Friday, March 24th and Saturday, March 25th, both at 8 pm. There is information in the Schoolwide section of this Courier about our plans to get tickets to those that need them, and we have already accommodated family members of cast and crew members. As for middle school students who are interested in seeing the show, I let students know via announcements at lunch periods and during Morning Meeting that they could sign up for the opportunity to purchase tickets this past Monday and Tuesday. Students will be able to make those ticket purchases on Thursday and Friday of this week.

Spring Student Led Conferences are coming up the week of March 20th. Teachers are going to be putting together Advisor Reports in which they give students feedback on how they have taken feedback and shown growth since they received their semester reports in January. If a student has not shown growth or if a student has regressed since January, teachers will comment on that as well. Students will reflect on this feedback and this will be one of the topics that they discuss during their conferences. Teachers will reach out to you to start scheduling conferences in the next week or so.

As always if you have any questions feel free to reach out.

Kind regards,

Mark
