Letter from the MC Principal – April 22, 2015

Dear ANCS Families and Friends,

Run With the Wolves was a huge success! We were lucky that the rain held off so folks could participate without getting totally soaked! I want to say a HUGE thank you to Michael Michaelides for chairing this year’s event and to Sarah Steely, Kyle Booth, Marcy Cent, Shelley Danser and Marina Saffel for serving on the RWTW’s committee throughout the year. Thanks, too, to Craig Baker, Don Grant, Anna Coan, Rebecca Hudson, Sonia Fuller, Kerrie Hall, and Santina Cambor for all their hard work with making the race a fun and safe event for all. I know that there were countless other volunteers that helped to make RWTWs such a success, so please accept our appreciation for your efforts.

Each year Matt Underwood challenges students to beat his time in the race. If a student crosses the finish line before him, he takes him/her to dinner. This year Mr. Underwood will be taking three students out – congratulations to middle schoolers Ethan Heynes, Zeke Saviello, and Callen Roth for earning a dinner with Mr. Underwood! Also, thanks to those of you who sponsored a teacher team for the race. That raised $2,093.00 for our annual campaign! The middle campus team consisting of Andrew Ross, Dale Scott, Lesley Michaels and Beverly Caudle is thrilled to have won the most sponsors. In honor of winning, Mr. Ross will wear a dress for a day!

As you know, we are in the midst of Milestones testing. Things are going very smoothly thanks to the hard work of Elayna Wilson and Kristin Lee, our testing coordinators. They pay close attention to detail and prepare our staff and students so that the testing environments are as stress-free as possible. Be sure to thank them when you see them!

The weather wasn’t kind to our Soccer and Baseball Wolves last week. This week we are hoping for better weather conditions. Our Baseball Wolves will compete for the league championship on Friday, April 24 at 5:30pm, Medlock Park. Go Wolves; let’s bring home that trophy! Our Soccer Wolves will play Wednesday through Saturday, one game each day, to make up for the rainouts last week. Come cheer on the Wolves at one or more of these events this week.

If the arts are more your style, you have two more opportunities to see the middle campus production of Disney’s High School Musical 2 Jr. Shows will take place on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00pm at the Elementary Campus. Donations of $4 are encouraged and go towards supporting the Drama Club. Concessions proceeds support the 8th grade Washington D.C. trip. I‘m excited to see the production this weekend and hope to see you there!

Wishing you well,

Cathey
