6th Grade Middle School Transition

Greetings parents of rising 6th graders!

We are happy to welcome you to the Middle Campus this fall. 
Our transition plan for 5th to 6th is as follows:
  • 5th graders visit the MC in April to meet teachers and administrators, tour the school and experience a select few classes
  • Transition staff visit the EC in May to explain Summer Learning and to make sure students know how to access necessary applications
  • Late May, 5th grade teachers pass out summer reading books and paper copies of the Summer Learning details
  • Wolf Prep Camp emails go out last week of school

  • Summer Reading-  
    • Students have received their choice book
    • Students have joined the Summer Google Classroom in class during the last week of school
    • MC staff Book Leaders have uploaded videos with plans for summer reading meetups
    • Students should watch the video and begin reading according to the teacher’s pacing instructions and show up or participate according to the book group plan once or twice this summer.
  • Summer Math
    • Students logged into Study Island and completed one question (to orient themselves to the program) during last week of school. Click here for login instructions.
    • Students should complete the diagnostic by June 9th
    • Then they have 5 skills to work on during the summer assigned by Mr. Heacock (up to 60 min per week/ goal = earn 70% on each).
  • Wolf Prep Camp
    • Parents should sign their student(s) up for one date that works with your summer schedule.
