Hello, Wolf Pack! Did you know that ANCS has a long tradition of reducing its environmental footprint? From installing solar panels to composting food scraps to eliminating single-use utensils, our school is always looking for ways that we can be greener.
Now it’s your turn! To celebrate Earth Day, the Sustainability Committee invites you to participate in a challenge. From now until April 30, post a photo in the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School Family Facebook group of your student or your family doing something good for the environment. This can be anything: packing a lunch in all reusable packaging, picking up trash in the neighborhood, taking a load of recyclables to CHARM… get creative! Form a new green habit or celebrate the progress you’ve already made. We will pick two of our favorite photos and the winning families will get a gift card to a local ice cream shop. Not on Facebook? Email your photo to jessica.Harlan@gmail.com – be sure to give us permission to share it in our (private) Facebook group.
Finally, we’re looking for a new person to chair the Sustainability Committee next year. If you’re interested in helping with our school’s efforts to be more environmentally responsible and want to learn more, please email Jessica Harlan at email@example.com.
