Atlanta Public Schools Delays Reopening Plans

Dear School Family –

I hope you all enjoyed a safe and restful fall break.

COVID-19 cases are currently trending up in Fulton County, and today Atlanta Public Schools announced a corresponding delay in their plans to reopen classrooms. Any return to in-person learning in the district will be pushed back to January 2021. This postponement impacts Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School as well; you may remember that we cannot override a district-level decision made in the interest of the health and safety of students.

We look forward to welcoming our students back into our buildings as soon as it is safe to do so. Faculty and staff spent the day today working on our own reopening plans, with a focus on how to maximize the amount of face-to-face instruction delivered to students while maintaining sound public health standards that protect the entire school family.

In the meantime, we will continue to deliver the best remote learning platform we possibly can, and work wherever possible to meet the individual needs of each student.

Thank you for your patience and support as the landscape continues to shift.
