The School Farm is an expansion of what has been an ongoing focus on educational gardening and a farm-to-school experience at ANCS. In years past, students at both campuses have had hands-on experiences growing food, and they are routinely exposed to the benefits of a local food system. Nichole Lupo has worked at the elementary campus previously in a role that supported the integration of gardening into our curriculum, and she recently rejoined our team as an Early/AfterCare employee. She will now serve as our School Farm Specialist – supporting student engagement in the farm before, during and after the school day, liaising with our farmers and teachers, and furthering the impact of this ambitious project on the entire school family. We look forward to the first and many harvests, and we welcome Nichole to this reinvigorated effort.
