That’s a Wrap on Into the Woods JR.
What an incredible run. Thank you to our entire ANCS community, including parents, students, faculty, and administration, for showing up, supporting, and making this production so special. Months of rehearsals and countless volunteer hours came together to create something truly magical on our stage.
We sold over 1,100 tickets across four performances. What an amazing show of support for our student performers and crew.
This production would not have been possible without our dedicated creative team: Jacob Dewey (Director), Ja’Siah C. Young (Assistant Director), Alina Hinton (Choreographer), Toccara Nelson and Annette Wawerna (Music), Nathan Bubes, Ed Santos, and Luna Janes (Set and Production), and Christina Jones and Ashlyn Kress (Costumes).
Theater matters. The arts matter. And the impact on our students is lasting.
Thank you for supporting ANCS Drama.
Thank You from Mr. Dewey:
Musicals are a team sport. I am fortunate to work with a production and director team that helps our students have an experience they can be proud of.
Alina, Toccara, Nathan, Christina, Annette, and Ashlyn: Thank you for volunteering your time for free each year for the musical. We create something amazing every year, and I could not do it without you.
Ja’Siah: You amaze me each year. Thank you for the partnership and collaboration! You make me a better teacher and artist.
Julia: Thank you for doing all those orders and always doing it with a smile.
Into the Woods JR Cast and Crew: This show has been a journey, and I am better having gone through it with you all. I’m so very proud of this talented cast! It has been an honor to direct you and watch you dig deep and develop your talent.
The Student Directors: I know that directing isn’t always exciting, and you have come together to help each other, hold each other accountable, and see this process through to the end. You are the future leaders of your communities, and thank you for letting me be part of that journey.
Paige: I wouldn’t make it to the finish line without your help, reminders, and the work that you put into the logistics of ticketing, programs, T-shirts… the list goes on. Thank you for being there for every show we do.
8th Grade Cast and Crew Members: My eyes are welling up with tears as I type this. You are talented, funny, smart, and know how to keep me in check. You always have a home at ANCS Drama.
Chiquetta: Thank you for approving our budget and needs and trusting me with the shows each year.
EC Faculty: Thank you for allowing us to disrupt the flow for 3 weeks. We always appreciate your support and patience as we take over the auditorium for two weeks.
ANCS Administration: Thank you for all the support of ANCS Drama. You help create a space where so many of our students find belonging.
Alliance Theatre: Thank you for the ongoing partnership with our school. Our students are growing in so many ways.
Faculty and Parent Volunteers: Thank you for coming together as a whole school community to help make these shows possible. I am always grateful for how many people come to support these shows. It is humbling to see the power that our school community has when the whole community comes together.
Families and Caregivers of the Cast and Crew: You do more to support these kids than I ever see. You help them through the excitement, the tears of frustration, and the feedback.
ANCS Community: The shows are a highlight of our school year, and we could not do them without the support of the ANCS community. Thank you for attending our shows and supporting our cast and crew at all our performances.
