Wonderball – March 2, 2024

Dear School Family,

Four years ago in March, our community for the first time in nearly two decades experienced a tear in the fabric that has consistently brought us together. Thanks to the dedication of our teachers, staff, parents, neighbors the connective tissue has started to grow once again. While we have many wonderful opportunities to come together as a school family, it’s rare for us to find time to connect human-to-human as teachers, parents, and special friends in a kid-free environment.

Families and teachers that joined the school during the pandemic are only now starting to fully experience the defining characteristics of ANCS. As we teach our children the importance of community, it’s just as important that we find the opportunities to meet a new person, connect with a beloved teacher, talk to a parent you see every day but to whom you haven’t said hello. Wonderball will serve as a wonderful chance to celebrate the people that make our school community special.

Where we once used this event exclusively to raise money for the operation of the school (see history below) today we look to use this event to restore the strength of connection between the people who make a school a community. We are excited to invite you to join us for a festive 90s-themed celebration titled “Saved by the Ball”. Not only does the theme help us let loose and bring back some nostalgic vibes, but the title reinforces the intent of this event – in hard times, we all need to be saved by the depth of connections that will endure beyond this night.

Thanks to the generous support of Carter (the developers of nearby Summerhill) we are hosting this event at MET ATL (680 Murphy Avenue SW, Atlanta, GA 30310) on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 7pm to 11pm. Our goal is simple – make this the highest attended Wonderball in school history, because we need togetherness now more than ever.

If you have any questions, please e-mail our “wonder”ful event co-chairs MaryClaire Foster and Jon Monnier at wonderball@atlncs.org.
