Counseling Services

Counseling services seek to address the social and emotional needs of students and are available to all students enrolled at the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School.  The counselor serves students in the following ways:

  • Individual Counseling
  • Group Counseling
  • Classroom Guidance

Teachers, parents, or students can refer a student for counseling services.  Only students with written permission will be allowed to participate in on-going group counseling sessions.

The counselor also implements the “Think First & Stay Safe” Program, a violence prevention program, in kindergarten, second grade, and fourth grade.  Parents shall be notified when “Think First & Stay Safe” will be done and have the option of declining participation.  Parents’ requests regarding participation will be honored.
