Farm Community Workday this Saturday!

If you’re anything like the farm crew, the changes in light, temperature, and leaves have you sighing deeply with relief at the end of another long, hot summer in the A. Let’s celebrate those shifts by gathering, connecting, and working on the elementary campus farm this Saturday, October 25, 9-11am.
Our tasks may include:
  • moving and spreading soil for our updated strawberry patch (!!!)
  • spreading wood chip mulch in various places
  • removing invasive weeds in the large round planter (many are thorny, will require leather gloves)
  • weeding/care for our perennial fruits
  • possible clean out of new/repurposed storage area for tools
We’ll have everything you need to work safely and comfortably on the farm including:
  • gloves (adult and kiddo)
  • sunscreen/bug spray
  • access to bathrooms and water
  • coffee and snacks
We recommend you bring or wear:
  • closed toe shoes
  • a reusable water bottle
  • whatever makes you comfy and cozy->jacket, hat, sunglasses, etc.
  • leather work gloves, if you happen to have a pair
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns, and feel free to bring any grandparents or special friends that may be visiting and want to just be on the farm. It’s a great place for all of that and more. RSVP here to let us know you’re coming, and we’ll see you Saturday!
