KaToya Sumner
7th/8th Grade Physical & Health Education Teacher
KaToya Sumner joined ANCS in 2026 as the 7th/8th Grade Physical and Health Education Teacher, returning to a community that has been an important part of her family’s life for many years. She previously taught 1st and 3rd grade at ANCS Elementary from 2015 to 2019 and has remained actively involved as a parent, community partner, and long-term substitute teacher on both the Elementary and Middle Campuses. She is excited to once again be part of the ANCS team.
Ms. Sumner earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a minor in Marketing from the University of North Texas. With more than 10 years of experience in education, she is passionate about building meaningful relationships, fostering community, and creating engaging learning experiences that support students’ physical, social, and emotional well-being.
Outside the classroom, Ms. Sumner is the founder of SumHigh Fitness, a POUND ICON Master Trainer, and an international presenter. She has led community wellness programs, corporate wellness experiences, youth movement classes, and instructor trainings across the country and internationally. Through her work, she partners with schools, nonprofits, and organizations to make movement, wellness, and connection accessible to people of all ages.
Originally from Texas, Ms. Sumner has called Atlanta home for the past 16 years. She and her husband, Damon, have three children: Mission, Liv, and Ever. She enjoys music, movement, travel, and creating spaces where people feel connected and inspired to grow. She is thrilled to officially return to ANCS because, as they say, “Once a Wolf, Always a Wolf!”
