Lesley Wood

Learning Lab Specialist

Lesley Wood has been a Special Education teacher for 11 years and is beginning her 8th year at ANCS. She’s looking forward to being a specialist in the learning lab this year, after having previously been a 5th grade teacher for 3 years and teacher at the middle campus for 4 years.

Lesley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Georgia and is a certified Special Education Teacher. Prior to becoming an education professional, Lesley was a medical editor for over 15 years with Emory University and the American Cancer Society.

Lesley is the proud mom of two sons — a sophomore in college and a senior in high school. Her older son is on the autism spectrum and it’s through her journey with him and his experience that she became interested in special education and working with these amazing kids. She feels rewarded every day by connecting with and supporting the individual needs of every student. In her spare time, Lesley enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, live music, and attempting to solve true crime mysteries.
