EC Principal Letter
Dear ANCS Elementary Families,
A big shout out goes to ANCS music teacher, Mrs. Wawerna, for creating and directing such a fun and beautiful Winter Wonderland last Wednesday. It was cold, but not freezing – just right for an outside performance in the winter! It was amazing to see our entire lower field filled and heartwarming to have our whole school family together to celebrate the joy music brings to our lives. Our students did an exceptional job performing this year. A special thanks goes to Ms. Griffith who helped students create beautiful art, to Coach Daniel, Mrs. Paez, Ms. Baughman, Ms. Taylor, Ms. Wood & parent volunteer, Ashlyn Kress who supported Mrs. Wawerna with rehearsals and to Jim Kessenich and NaTasha Woody who helped with many backstage details. Also, hats off to all the parent volunteers who supported with decorating, stage set up and clean up after the show. Bravo!
All the lost and found items are located in our cafeteria. We will donate everything at the end of the day Friday, December 19th. We are encouraging students to take some time to look through the missing jackets, sweaters, shirts, hats, water bottles, lunchboxes, etc. at some point this week. If you have time, you are also welcome to look through the racks yourself. We would love to see these items be reunited with their owners.
Once we get back to school, your child’s 18-Week Progress Report and winter MAP report will be sent home via email on Tuesday, January 6th. As a reminder, this report is part of our holistic reporting system, and is designed to operate in conjunction with parent conferences and the end-of-the-year report card. This report is intentionally called a Progress Report because we understand that students are continually growing and developing over the course of a school year. The progress report provides a picture of where a student’s understanding of grade level standards is at this point in the school year. There is no formal parent-teacher conference required for this marking period, but, as always, if you have questions, you should reach out to your child’s teachers. We will have our next conference window beginning February 23rd.
I am wishing all of you a joyful, peaceful and restful winter break. I hope that you are able to spend this time with your loved ones, spread acts of kindness and joy to others and find love and peace in your heart. I am excited about spending time with my family, baking and relaxing at home.
Please remember that dismissal is at 11:30 on Friday and all students must be picked up from school by 11:30. There is no after school on Friday.
Wishing you well,
Lara
